Continuing Service
Friends of Afghanistan is committed to promoting understanding, friendship, and lasting peace in Afghanistan. Our ongoing mission is to facilitate the exchange of information about Afghanistan and its people and to connect with organizations in the United States and around the world to support their peace, security, and prosperity.
To accomplish these goals, we support Starfish Initiatives, working with NGOs in Afghanistan and with military veterans’ groups and civilian outreach organizations in the United States. Our Starfish Initiatives create a lasting impact on individuals, families, and small communities in Afghanistan, the U.S., and among the global Afghan diaspora.
Goals:
- • To facilitate peaceful and constructive dialogue about Afghanistan.
- • To inform our members and the American public at large about Afghanistan-related issues.
- • To support organizations assisting the citizens of Afghanistan, as well as displaced Afghans in America and globally.
- • To promote the well-being of the Afghan people through our support for health, education, and nutrition programs.
- • To serve as an alumni association for Americans who served in Afghanistan.
